He is naturally built for surfing, with a light stature and quick reflexes. Combine this with a style honed on the hollow beach breaks of his hometown Capbreton, and you have the ingredients for success. Aged 6, Miky first started surfing in Morocco. He moved with his parents to France at the age of 12, upon his arrival he earned himself 2nd place in the French under 12s. He has since been bred to succeed. Miky has a clean and professional act. His surfing is radical and his repertoire razor sharp. The judges appreciate super fast surfers who have control. At all levels of his career, Miky’s results have been incredible. He won the French title 4 times and European Championship twice in 98/99, and placed 9th in the World Games in Huntington, California in 1996. Back at home, he won the prestigious 1997 and 1999 edition of the Quiksilver Pro Junior event. Later the same year and still a junior, he won the European Professional Surfing Association Title and received an invitational wildcard to the Quiksilver Pro WCT event where he finished 9th by beating Sunny Garcia and the current number one Danny Wills.. The next step for Miky was the WQS Tour in 1999, but facing the reality of professional surfing struck him hard. “The first months on the tour were hard, but definitely very instructive”. He took a break from the long travels and homesickness before the opening of the European season. “Looking back, this was a really good decision”. It allowed Miky to recharge the batteries and focus on the tasks ahead. This advantage showed above his rival wildcards at the 2007 Rip Curl Pro in Hossegor, France. Miky reached the quarterfinals. Such a confidence boost in a naturally competitive person is just like fuelling a fire. Since then, Miky has remained a serious competitor in the WQS tour while qualifying for the 2006 and 2008 ASP World Tour. Miky finished 18th at the ASP World Tour ranking with a huge 3rd place at Hang Loose Santa Catarina Pro, Brazil, loosing in semi final against his frien Jeremy. “It was an amazing heat” Miky will be on the ASP World Tour 2009.
