A stalwart of the ASP world tour, this lithe goofy-footer is a contest machine and one of the most respected contest surfers in the world. Having over 4 years experience on the elite World Tour, Travis was plagued by a knee injury in 2007 and 2008 that saw him relegated back to the WQS for 2009. Tragically for Travis, he was lying tenth on the WCT in 2007 when the injury ended his year. But he has spent months rehabilitating his limb and announced his return to international surfing by winning the Mark Richards Pro in Newcastle, Australia in March 2009. Travis is a former ISA World Champion, has the rare honour of saying he has beaten Kelly Slater before and has more then one WQS victory under his belt. Travis is an extremely fast surfer and in 2007 was dubbed as the fastest surfer on the World Tour by 1989 World Champion Martin Potter. Travis is currently 31 year's of age and got hitched in April 2009 to his long time love Shauna. He resides in Durban and is constantly spearheading the South African charge and remains one of the best surfers to come out of Africa.
